Inauguration of Common Facility Centre of Haorang Sabal Block Level Cluster and IDPH Projects of Imphal West at Salam Village
During the inauguration ceremony of a Common Facility Centre (CFC) of Haorang Sabal Block Level Cluster and IDPH projects of Imphal West at Salam Village, Minister of Textiles, commerce & Industry, Smt. Nemcha Kipgen said that “Preparatory Support Scheme” will be available from 02 Oct 2022 at the newly inaugurated CFC at Salam Village.
Main component of the new programme is to provide the following benefit to handloom weavers exclusively at CFC namely warp beam at 50 percent on the cost yarn, pirn with weft yarn at 50% of the Cost yarn and bobbins with warp yarn at 50% of the Cost yarn. The newly inaugurated CFC will help in empowering the women financially.
Speaking on the occasion, Lamsang MLA, Deputy Chairman, State Planning Authority, S. Rajen Singh said that inspite of having large numbers of weavers and artisans and the Handloom & Handicrafts products of its own, most of the items are being imported from outside the state. Encouraging the public to make use of Manipur products in daily life will help in growing the economy of the state and the weavers will also have a sustainable livelihood.
N. Promo Devi, Zilla Parishad Member; Awang Khunou Gram Panchayat Pradhan, Th. Dwijamani Singh; Khongampat Gram Panchayat, Pradhan Y. Muhindro Singh; Director of Textiles,Commerce & Industry, K. Lamlee Kamei and Managing Director, MHHDCL E Jeeten Singh also graced the occasion.
