Noney, Manipur: In a significant development for the Noney District, the newly constructed Handloom & Textiles Office cum Common Facility Centre (CFC) was formally inaugurated on 5th September 2024. The event was graced by prominent dignitaries including Dinganglung Gangmei, Chairman of the Hill Area Committee, Manipur, K. Lamlee Kamei, Director of Handloom & Textiles, Dr. Sharah Chandra Arroju, Deputy Commissioner of Noney, and Stody Dangmei, the land donor.
During the inauguration ceremony, the Hon’ble Chairman appealed to the people of the district to make full use of the Centre and consult with the concerned departments for any issues. He also pledged his support for the development of the district.
K. Lamlee Kamei highlighted the various schemes offered by the Handloom & Textiles Department and encouraged weavers to utilize the newly inaugurated CFC to enhance their production and quality.
The Deputy Commissioner expressed his gratitude to the Handlooms & Textiles Department for establishing the new office in the district, recognizing it as a crucial step towards development.
The land donor, Mr. Stody Dangmei, also expressed his appreciation for the department’s initiative in setting up the office in the district.
The function concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by the Project Manager of Noney, Mr. John.
